Suspect Has Been Arrested In Hit And Run

Woodstock Police officials report that Hit and Run suspect, Kenneth Gonzalez, 53, of Canton, is in custody at Cobb County Jail.

At 9:30 a.m., Woodstock Police Officers responded to a pedestrian hit and run call on 575 Southbound just before Towne Lake Parkway. Upon arrival, they located the victim, a road construction worker, who sustained serious injuries when a gray 2006 GMC Sierra truck struck the him and fled the scene.

Woodstock Police Investigators followed up on a leads and Gonzalez was subsequently located in Cobb County at 1:50 p.m. this date.

Gonzalez is charged with Driving Under the Influence through Cobb County Police Department. Woodstock Police Investigators will secure warrants for his arrest with pending charges related to the hit and run.

The victim is currently at Kennestone Hospital in critical condition.
