The House and Senate passed and adopted SB 17, known as the Brunch Bill during the 2017-2018 Legislative Session. This bill provides for cities and counties to allow the sell of alcohol beginning at 11 am on Sundays for those restaurants with a Sunday Sales/On-Premise Consumption license upon the successful passage of a referendum.
The Woodstock City Council adopted an ordinance on July 9, 2018 establishing the effective date to be immediately upon the passage of the referendum. The referendum election results from November 6, 2018 were 75.38% in favor and 24.62% against, meaning beginning this Sunday, November 11, 2018, appropriately licensed restaurants in the City of Woodstock may begin serving alcohol at 11 am on Sundays. Restaurants are currently being notified by City staff.
We appreciate everyone who participated in this election.
