The City of Woodstock Police Department is comprised of sixty-four sworn and civilian personnel serving the largest municipality within Cherokee County. The department is responsible for the law enforcement services of approximately eleven square miles inhabited by over 23,000 residents and over 350 businesses. The City of Woodstock continues to be one of the nation's fastest growing cities.

As our officers excel we offer many avenues of specialized training. Through our progressive approach officers have the ability to become Canine Specialists, SWAT team members, Accident Reconstructionists, Motorcycle Officers, Detectives, Police Training Officers, Drug Task Force Agents, and Traffic Enforcement Officers. Officers who achieve the highest standards will also be eligible for promotion.
Beginning Your Career
Interested applicants will complete a series of steps in order to ensure that the very best applicants are chosen to join our team of dedicated officers.
Applicants will complete the following prior to employment:
» Entry Level Written Exam
» Physical Agility Test
» Background Check
» Oral Interview Board
» Polygraph Examination
» Medical Examination
» Psychological Examination
» Georgia Peace Officer Standards and
Training Entry Level Written Exam
Successful applicants will then be transitioned into the department and prepared for the Georgia Peace Officer State Academy.

The following are the basic requirements that must be met in order to qualify for a position as a Police Officer with the City of Woodstock Police Department.
» Must have or obtain a valid State of Georgia
driver's license and have a demonstrated safe
driving record
» Must be certifiable by the Georgia Police Officer
Standards and Training Council
» No felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanors,
including DUI offenses
