Message from the Fire Chief:

Thank you for visiting our website.  The Woodstock Fire Department has a proud history of serving our community.  That spirit of service continues as we move forward into the future. The men and women of the Woodstock Fire Department are here to serve you.  From our firefighters to our administrative staff we are committed to providing the highest levels of service possible.

The mission of the Woodstock Fire Department is to commit our training, knowledge, and skills, to respond quickly, make every effort to help, and be respectful.

These words summarize what we do, but it is the men and women of the Woodstock Fire Department who embrace these words on a daily basis; continuing to make a difference in our community.  The Woodstock Fire Department is an “All Risk” department, meaning we will respond to the needs of the community, regardless of the nature of the incident and begin the process of achieving a positive outcome.  The Woodstock Fire Department is comprised of specialists in many areas of firefighting and rescue.   We are proud that the vast majority of our members are State Certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTI) or Paramedics (EMTP).   Emergency Medical Services represent a large portion of our call volume and we make it a priority to continue educating ourselves on the change in pre-hospital care.   As chief, I am proud to represent such a fine organization and am quite frequently impressed with the compassion and resourcefulness of the men and women of our department and their commitment to the residents, businesses and visitors of the City of Woodstock.   As we move into our next chapter of service we will continually seek ways to re-think how we provide our service in an effort to be more efficient, more adaptable and more responsive to the needs of our community.

It is our commitment to you that we stand ready to assist you in your time of need day or night, with compassion, professionalism, respect and dignity.

Respectfully,

David Soumas Fire Chief
