Art Woodstock is a community based consulting team dedicated to bringing a Public Art Master Plan to the City of Woodstock which in turn will promote and nurture a vibrant cultural community by facilitating the installation of public art in the City of Woodstock.

Goals:
  • Develop a Public Art Master Plan for City of Woodstock
  • Ongoing Facilitation of the Public Art Master Plan
  • Stimulate a public art initiative in Woodstock that enhances
  • Woodstock with an exhibit of individual and unique pieces of art
  • Serve as an economic development tool by attracting visitors,
  • residents and businesses to the area through public arts
  • Enhance quality of life for residents of Woodstock

The Public Art Master Plan will recommend locations for public art to be placed on land owned and controlled by the City of Woodstock.  The Plan will identify the process used to facilitate the artist recruitment process for temporary art installations and the City’s permanent collection, fund-raising and grant proposals, and the maintenance of public art.

COMMUNITY MEETINGS

Art Woodstock will be hosting a series of community meetings to gather input on how the plan should be written and implemented.  Everyone is welcome to attend!

September 8 - Tuesday - 6-7:30 pm – The Chambers - General Public Meeting announcing the process, receive initial input and survey completion.

September 10 - Thursday - 4-7 pm – The Chambers - Public Workshop - Drop-in Format, provide examples of public art, maps with possible installation locations, survey completed by attendees identifying type of art wanted and preferred locations.

September 15 - Tuesday - 4-7pm – Woodlands Clubhouse, 800 Woodlands Parkway - Public Workshop - Drop-in Format, provide examples of public art, maps with possible installation locations, survey completed by attendees identifying type of art wanted and preferred locations.

September 17 - Thursday - 4-7pm - Deer Run West Clubhouse - Public Workshop - Drop-in Format, provide examples of public art, maps with possible installation locations, survey completed by attendees identifying type of art wanted and preferred locations.

This meeting has been postponed!  New date to come! – The Chambers - General Public Meeting summarizing what has been learned from survey process and input meetings, and receive final community feedback regarding types of public art and preferred installation locations.

TBD - The Chambers - General Public Meeting - Final public presentation of Draft Art Master Plan for their feedback prior to presentation to City Council for approval.
