PRESS RELEASE ANNOUNCING A PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

 

CITY OF WOODSTOCK, GEORGIA

NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

The City of Woodstock’s Mayor and City Council have tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 3.28 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the Chambers at City Center, 8534 Main Street, Woodstock, Georgia 30188 on August 15, 2016 at 7:00 PM.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the

Chambers at City Center, 8534 Main Street, Woodstock, Georgia 30188 on August 22, 2016 at 10:30 AM and a final hearing at 7:00 PM on August 22, 2016 at the City Council meeting. 

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 6.992 mills, an increase of .222 mills.  Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 6.770 mills.  The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $75,000 is approximately $6.66 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately.
