Land Development Code

An Ordinance regulating the subdivision of land in a manner which will encourage the development of economically sound and stable communities, assure the provision of required public improvements, assure the adequate provision of safe and convenient traffic access and circulation, and assure the provision of needed public open spaces and building sites in new land developments through the reservation of land.This Ordinance sets forth standards which apply to any person undertaking any land-disturbing activities which have a potential of causing soil erosion.Standards are set forth in this Ordinance which regulate the location, type and structural requirements of outdoor advertising displays in order to insure compatible land uses and to protect public safety.The Ordinance establishes minimum standards regarding the development of and placement of mobile homes in mobile home parks for the purpose of promoting the health, safety, morals and general welfare of the City.The Ordinance further regulates the size of buildings and other structures; the percentage of lot that may be occupied; the size of yards and other open spaces; the density and distribution of population; the location and use of buildings and other structures; and the use, conditions of use or occupancy of land for trade, industry, housing, recreation, transportation, agriculture or for the other purposes; creating districts for said purposes and establishing the boundaries thereof.The Ordinance establishes definitions of certain terms used herein; provides for the method of administration, enforcement and amendment; creates an appeals process; provides for violation, and repeals conflicting Ordinances and resolutions.
