The Woodstock Downtown Development Authority (DDA) was created by an activating resolution of the Council of the City of Woodstock on November 26, 2002 pursuant to the provisions of Article IX, Section VI, Paragraph III of the 1983 Constitution of the State of Georgia, the Downtown Development Authorities Law of the State of Georgia, O.C.G.A. § 36-42-1, et seq., as amended (the “Act”).
The DDA is tasked with the revitalization and redevelopment of the central business district of Woodstock and to promote for the public good and general welfare trade, commerce, industry, and employment opportunities.
DDA board members are appointed to concurrent terms by the Mayor and each Council Person and is staffed by members of the city’s Economic Development Department through an Intergovernmental Agreement adopted by the DDA Board and the City Council.
