SCHOOL SPEED VIOLATION INFORMATION

The automated speed enforcement camera is located at 230 Rope Mill Rd in front of Woodstock Elementary.  The camera operates on school days between the hours of 07:05 am and 2:45 pm. Vehicles detected driving eleven or more (11+) miles per hour over the speed limit will be issued a citation in the mail.

CITATION INFORMATION

  • A sworn officer reviews and approves each violation before a citation is issued.
  • The registered owner (not the driver) of the vehicle found to be in violation of O.C.G.A. Sec. 40-14-18 will be issued the citation.
  • School speed violations are civil in nature and are not considered a moving violation.
  • Citations do not carry points as outlined by the Department of Driver’s Services.
  • School speed violations do not have any effect on your current or future insurance rates.
  • Failure to pay or contest the violation will result in the nonrenewal of the vehicle registration and prohibit the title transfer of the cited vehicle within the State of Georgia until payment is made.
