WOODSTOCK PARKS AND RECREATION TEAMS WITH SEQUOYAH REGIONAL LIBRARY SYSTEM FOR TRAILSTORY PROGRAM

Woodstock Parks and Recreation is joining the Sequoyah Regional Library System in creating TrailStory, a project aimed at giving elementary school aged children and their families a fun, active and socially safe way to read a book and enjoy Woodstock’s trails at the same time.

Beginning in October on Noonday Creek Trail from the Woofstock Park connection towards Hwy 92 and running through the month, 15-20 signs along will be placed along the trail with pages of the book Room on the Broom, a national bestseller, by Julia Donaldson on one side of the sign and interactive/QR code questions about the book on the other side of the sign. Children and their families can enjoy the book and the trail at their own pace, anytime, as many times as they like through the entirety of October.

As a self-guided book reading, TrailStory encourages participation in outdoor activities on Woodstock’s trails without creating a gathering which aligns with efforts to program with social distancing in mind.
